Old wax doesn't just sit there. Over time, it traps dirt, scuffs, and grime, turning your floors yellow and dull. Our crew applies a stripping solution, scrubs the old finish away with a professional floor machine, and rinses the floor clean. This gives your new wax a fresh, even base to stick to.

Once your floors are stripped clean, it's time to bring back the shine. We apply several thin, even coats of high-quality floor finish, letting each coat dry before the next goes on. The result is a glossy, protective layer that looks great and stands up to daily foot traffic.

VCT floors are tough, but they need regular care to stay looking good. Without it, the wax finish wears thin, and the tile underneath starts to show scuffs, scratches, and black heel marks. Each new coat of wax added over a dirty floor traps more grime, so layers build up and turn yellow and dingy over time. In Las Vegas, fine desert dust and sand get tracked in all day and act like sandpaper, wearing down the finish even faster in busy entrances and hallways. Using the wrong cleaners can also dull the shine or break down the wax. Left alone, these problems make your whole business look worn out and can shorten the life of your floors.
Bulldog Tile and Grout Cleaning takes the stress out of commercial floor care. We strip away every layer of old, yellowed wax down to clean tile, then apply fresh, even coats of finish for a bright shine that holds up to busy foot traffic. Our licensed and insured crew shows up on time, protects your walls and baseboards, and leaves no streaks or mess behind. As a locally owned company serving the Las Vegas Valley for more than six years, we know how desert dust wears down commercial floors and how to build a finish that lasts. Whether you run an office, store, school, or rental property, every job is backed by our Satisfaction Guarantee.
VCT stands for vinyl composition tile. It's a tough, budget-friendly flooring made mostly of limestone mixed with vinyl and color pigments. You'll often see it in schools, stores, offices, hospitals, and break rooms. To stay shiny and protected, it needs regular stripping and waxing.
Each coat of floor wax needs to dry completely before the next one goes on, and several thin coats are applied. Most floors can handle light foot traffic within a few hours, but the finish keeps hardening after that. Exact drying times depend on the product, temperature, and humidity.
First, the floor is swept and a stripping solution is applied to break down the old, dirty wax. Then a floor machine scrubs it off, and the leftover mess is vacuumed up and rinsed away. Once the floor is clean and dry, several fresh coats of wax are applied to protect it and bring back the shine.
It's possible for very small areas, but it's slow, tiring work and the results are often uneven. A floor machine scrubs off old wax much more completely. For larger spaces, hiring a professional saves time and gives you a better, longer-lasting finish.
Dust mop or sweep daily to remove dirt and grit that scratch the finish. Damp mop with a neutral floor cleaner, and avoid harsh cleaners that can dull or break down the wax. Between full strip and wax jobs, a scrub and recoat can refresh the shine.
Thick, yellowed wax buildup needs a full strip. A strong stripper is applied and scrubbed with a floor machine, and very heavy buildup may take more than one round. Once the floor is down to clean tile, fresh wax is applied for a bright, even finish.
It depends on the size of the space, how much old wax there is, and how many coats are needed. A small room may take a few hours, while large spaces can take a full day or night. We can schedule your job after hours or on weekends, so your business keeps running smoothly.
VCT (vinyl composition tile) is thin and relies on regular waxing to stay protected and shiny. LVT (luxury vinyl tile) has a built-in protective layer and usually looks like wood or stone. Since the two floors are cared for differently, it's important to know which one you have before any stripping or waxing.
Floor stripping means removing all the old wax or finish from a floor, down to the bare tile. Over time, wax gets scuffed, dirty, and yellow, and new coats on top just trap the grime. Stripping gives you a clean start, so fresh wax looks bright and even.
It depends on how much foot traffic your floors get. Busy areas like store entrances, hallways, and cafeterias need it more often than quiet offices or storage rooms. Regular scrub and recoat service in between can stretch the time between full strip jobs, and we'll recommend a schedule that fits your space.
